Jackie of All Trades!

Jackie came to visit from Florida and did a little bit of everything with us today:
Some food prep, gate girl, photography, cliff climbing, shuttling, bridge viewing, and boat supervising!

She also brought great fortune as we stood in one spot on the riverbank at Ferry Hole, the old stomping grounds, and viewed osprey, bald eagles, velvety bucks, merganzers, Canada Geese, beaver, fish, and crawdads...just to name a few!

It was so great to spend the day with Jackie, come back soon~

Floating Through Paradise

Donna and Dave truly enjoyed the birds, the animals, the water movement, and the slight rustling of leaves along the river. It was a quiet, calm, and serene day on the Rogue River. No time, no limits, just River Time!

What a blissfully enjoyable day. Thank you both for joining us!

Paddlers Extraordinaire

Three generations paddled the Rogue Whitewater today: six in the paddle raft and one great adventurer in the inflatable kayak. Ryan took on the rapids, whitewater, and friendly water fights like a seasoned pro. When the thrill of the rapids ended, the water fights began.

Taylor and Grandpa Dale took front row seats and were well reinforced by Jordan, Grandma Sharon, Leanne, and Nicole. The Blue Rocket boat nearly took flight in Dunn Riffle and Rooster Tail! All the power of super paddlers had the boat really moving.

There was a friendly competition of rock skipping at lunch along the river bank and plenty of wildlife in the 90 degree heat. The crew beat the heat with a leisurely drift in their life jackets through the lower canyon. It was a terrific day to be on the water!

Magic on the Rogue River

It was the giant soaker wave in Galice Rapid that covered everyone in the Rocket Boat! Ken and Judy were convinced it was the direction of River Man, Tim, but no credit given to anyone other than Mother Nature!

Shortly after some of the whitewater rides, an osprey swept down immediately in front of the big, blue, boat and skillfully grasped a hefty fish. Unbelievably, a doe and her fawn swam for a river crossing, just above Rocky Riffle. The breathtaking moments will be something to treasure for a life time.

The Rogue Forest Bed and Breakfast hosted Judy and Ken before and after the magical day on the river. We know they'll be back for more as Ken was sure there was another water battle ready to break loose and Judy is ready for the big-ger stuff! It was a pleasure to share the day with you both.

Paddling Rotation

Our guests today came from Oregon and Michigan. Everybody got a turn in the inflatable kayaks and took turns running the whitewater in the self propelled dynamic duckies! As Stephanie put it, there is no better way to get down the river than a raft or kayak...Its all good~

The osprey put on a show today, as everyone got to see it dive for a catch just inside Woolridge Canyon. A bald eagle looked on, but the left the osprey to enjoy his prey back at the nest with mate and fledglings...this time!

The water guns were relentless within family groups and there are promises of a return trip. We are sure it is for the whitewater, not for the retaliation of water fights, but you never know! Thank you all for such an enjoyable and happy day on the Rogue.

Animal Whisperers!

Haley and Kelly were self proclaimed animal whisperers today! They saw so much wild life above and along the banks of the mighty Rogue River. River otter were steadily watching them above Ennis Riffle. Turtles, beaver, osprey, bald eagles, and deer were among the other critters that came out to watch the happy paddlers. Then there was Rocky Raccoon, who has diligently been washing her food along the riverside.

Kelly and Haley were paddling inflatable kayaks and looking like experts throughout the day. Lunch was served on the bank with the inflatable kayak used as a table top. Its never the same river twice!

Whitewater Rafting on the Rogue River

Wow! What a day, the sparks were flying in anticipation of the Fourth of July. The temperatures soared to 100+ degrees, the power shooter super soaker squirt guns were well employed and the paddlers today were a fun and fantastic group of folks. We are so lucky here on the Rogue River to meet so many new people from near and far.

Today's trip came from different regions of our neighboring state to the South. Two paddle rafts were filled with enthusiasm and laughter and three inflatable kayaks soared through the biggest waves of the day. Many thanks to Zarina and family for the Powerhouse Paddling, to Chris and family for the Graceful Gliding and to Dan the Man for his Finesse and Flight in all of the whitewater. What a a great day to remember.
